Solving the EVIL java SSL issue

Same 'ol | Website | Work At-Site

Testing web applications in developmental environments that attempt to utilize Https through unsigned certificates can be challenging, especially if you’ve never had the pleasure of working with Sun’s keytool utility and X.509 security certificates.

This issue manifests itself as javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeExceptions and sun.security.validator.ValidatorExceptions. For example, attempting to access untrusted Https through Java may yield stack traces with these tidbits:

Javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException:
sun.security.validator.ValidatorException:
PKIX path building failed:
sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException:

If two men agree on everything, you may be sure that one of them is doing the thinking.
-- Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908-1973)

(I have seen this attributed to Truman, as well)

It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.
-- Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)

Music is the pleasure that the human soul encoutners from counting without knowing that it is counting.

Intellectual Superhero
Intellectual Superhero is neither an intellectual nor a superhero, but don’t tell him that! The Intellectual Superhero is easily identified by his complete inability to allow a class period to pass by without asking at least 654 questions designed to show how "witty" and "clever" he is. He will attempt to prove the professor wrong in every class with his inane bullshit, regardless of the fact that the professor has a doctorate in the field. If it’s a science course, the Intellectual Superhero will attempt to solve every problem using an alternate method, which is always incorrect. But don’t worry; he’ll still manage to waste 20 minutes of your life with his insane method of solving the problem. At least you’ll get to laugh at him when the professor proves him wrong.

An 'Ode to the Letter V - from V for Vendetta

Quote | Same 'ol

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.

Weekly Top-10
-------------

1. Evoca -- www.evoca.com
Evoca will change the way we communicate by empowering voices in ways never imagined before. We envision people everywhere speaking their minds, sharing their ideas, and storing their memories on Evoca. We see voice becoming the next tool for publishing and communicating online and through your telephone.

Evoca is clearly an ambitious project. The main issue is whether or not they can get and stay ahead of Odeo and become the brand people think of when they want to record and share audio files onlineSince others can comment on each file as well, Evoca has basically created a podcasting blog for each user. Add editing tools as I mention above, and they have a very nice platform

Sprint PPC-6700 - Remove Junkware

A few things on the new ROM. The reason everybody is having problems with packages coming back even though they have been removed from the setup file in the extended rom is due to the fact that the ROM is locked. If you make changes, you are making changes in memory only, so they come back after a hard reset. The way around this is to unlock the extended rom area and to move the setup file somewhere else and modify it and then move it back. I did this and it has been persistant.

Here are the steps I followed, since there seems to be a lack of usable instructions on this site.

1) Install the new ROM update, and let it do it's thing and install all of the junkware.

I then went to Vegas for CES..to celebrate the launch of Vongo...and then when I got back..the same day (three hours later) I flew to london to visit my cousin..for a week... It was so much fun... the weekend I got back.. I went indoor rock climbing with co-workers.. and then I took a day trip to tahoe for snowboarding with my bro sunil the verma...and there were many highlights of that trip as always... now I'm working on some collaborative solutions and embedded warranty stuff.. all quite interesting.. my latest goal is to be super fit..by summer time...lets see what happens..i'm starting to get discouraged to go the gymn..only cuz..going EVERYDAY..just plain sux..as it feels like its in your way! but shoot..gettin built doesn't come easy...
